WW - Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle, manual wind, 33mm x 41mm to lug tips, 16mm lug width, original stainless steel snap back signed "Invented By Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh," bi-directional bezel with blue and black enameled numerals and additional crown at 2, black leather strap, original silvered dial with black painted Roman numerals and inner hour angles scale also in black with inner rotating dial disc adorned with black and red numerals, 17J cal 12L, s#7551233, triple signed. A wonderful piece from the early days of aviation when being a pilot was akin to being an explorer.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide to steelwork; fine-plus dial with fading to numerals typical of these watches; excellent-plus blued steel hands; polished case shows medium wear, NOTE at 6 o'clock these originally had a manual clamp that kept the bezel from moving which has since been removed, this is quite common and it is far more common to see them without their original clamps than with them, several light dings on case; original crowns show little wear; good glass crystal.
